The truth is what you live; it’s what you do
Thus, once the now is gone, its truth is lost
Then what you did is now no longer true
So, what does truth become, and at what cost?
The truth becomes a story, not a lie
A lie is simply truth that simply died
All truth becomes a story, by and by
That’s why nobody says: “It’s what you lied!”
They say: “I heard the story that you told”
A truth only exists within the now
You cannot “tell” the truth, however bold
The way you make a promise with a vow
Semantics may have shaped our words from youth
But words are only words; they’re not the truth.
